Storybook Cocktail Club
The Brief
Storybook Cocktail Club approached Nothing Fancy Design Studio with a vision to blend two beloved pastimes: the ritual of a well-crafted cocktail and the joy of escaping into a good book.
They wanted a brand identity that felt timeless yet playful — one that nodded to classic literature but still felt fresh, social, and friendly. The primary goal was to create a visual world that could live comfortably across social media, print, and merch, while feeling inviting and refined.
Brand Concept
The concept centers around the romanticism of reading paired with the delight of mixology. The illustrated heroine — poised with a drink in one hand and a novel in the other — became the narrative anchor of the brand. Her vintage silhouette connects to traditional book culture, while the glass introduces a spirited, modern twist.
To support the mark, a custom typographic wordmark was developed with flourished, book-inspired letterforms. Its sweeping curves mimic page turns, cocktail swirls, and whimsical detailing, grounding the brand in elegance without sacrificing approachability. A complementary pattern system of books and coupe glasses expands the brand world with repeatable assets ideal for packaging, signage, and social.
The palette leans into rich tones — deep emerald, warm copper, creamy parchment — evoking speakeasy lounges, library walls, and leather-bound editions. Serif typography and classic engraving-style illustration techniques complete the atmosphere of refined storytelling.

The final identity delivers a cohesive, elevated brand system that translates seamlessly from print to digital.
